This Consultative Examination (CE) online guide (also known as the green book) has been developed to give physicians and other health professionals basic information about the CE process for evaluating Social Security disability claims. It explains the Social Security disability programs; how the Disability Determination Services (DDS) request CEs; what to look for in reviewing CEs; and the essential elements of CE reports for specialties most often involved in CEs for adult and pediatric disability cases.
