MCHB - Family To Family Health Information Centers

HRSA has awarded community-based organizations to establish a network of statewide centers run by families of children with special health care needs (CSHCN) to help other families with special needs children. These centers, called Family-To-Family Health Care Information and Education Centers for Families of Children with Special Health Care Needs, will be designed and supervised by families in partnership with State Title V CSHCN programs and other providers.

Family Voices is a national, grassroots clearinghouse for information and education concerning the health care of children with special health needs. We stay on top of public and private sector health care changes that affect our children and families through the collective efforts of our families: a volunteer Coordinator in every state; 10 Regional Coordinators; and a small staff working in several locations around the country.

NICHCY - National Information Center for Children and Youth with Disabilities

National information and referral center that provides information on disabilities and disability-related issues for families, educators, and other professionals; focuses specifically on children and youth (birth to age 22) and has several useful articles and contact sheets for parents.

TATRA - Technical Assistance Alliance for Parent Centers

The TATRA Project provides financial and administrative support to ten parent centers participating in the RSA parent training initiative that enables participating parent centers to develop as a "Center of Expertise." Each center focuses on a specialized Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) topic affecting families of young adults with disabilities.

TATRA -Parent Training and Information Centers

Parent Training and Information Centers (PTIs) and Community Parent Resource Centers (CPRCs) in each state provide training and information to parents of infants, toddlers, children, and youth with disabilities and to professionals who work with children. This assistance helps parents to participate more effectively with professionals in meeting the educational needs of children and youth with disabilities. The Parent Centers work to improve educational outcomes for children and youth with all disabilities (emotional, learning, mental, and physical).

The HRTW Center is headquartered at the Maine State Title V CSHN Program. Activities are coordinated through the Maine Support Network's Center for Self-Determination, Health and Policy. The Center is funded through a cooperative agreement (U39MC06899-01-00) from the Integrated Services Branch, Division of Services for Children with Special Health Care Needs (DSCSHN) in the Federal Maternal and Child Health Bureau (MCHB), Health Resources and Service Administration (HRSA), Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS).
